... is a guilty pleasure and an everlasting wish of mine. Who wouldn't fill their closet with torn, ugly clothes hoping a coworker or sibling notices how terrible they look. Most of the women on this show are genuinely surprised and genuinely hesitant to give up their wardrobe. I guess it would give it away if I went "Hell yeah, I'll give you all my clothes for a $5000 shopping spree. When do we start??"
What really makes me laugh are the women that absolutely refuse to change their hairstyle. They could have the longest, nastiest hair but they start crying when Nick comes at them with scissors. I saw one episode where the woman flat out refused to get her hair done. Needless to say, her makeover wasn't complete and I'm sure WNTW regretted that one. The new guy, Ted Gibson, used to do hair exclusively for A-list celebrities. I would trust my hair 100% in his hands. Some of these women don't, and that is a shame.

What Not to Wear...
Limited by Laziness and Money
The hubby is out of town on a hiking adventure with some friends. I told myself I would use this opportunity to get some things done around the house. So far, one bathroom has been painted and I have another room and a wall left. I really should start on the guest room tonight but it will probably depend on how I feel after work.
I am also somewhat limited in what I can do while he's gone because of finances. Even though I got paid today, I paid all the bills and have just enough left over to survive the next two weeks. That means I probably won't get to see the good movies that came out today (Funny People and (500) Days of Summer). If any of you saw these movies, let me know how they are. I might just have to wait for the DVD release :(.

Bands I'm listening to now
I have been listening to these 3 bands for the last couple of weeks and they are amazing!
1. Lenka - I first heard her on Grey's Anatomy and instantly became obsessed with her song "Trouble is a Friend" (it's my current ringtone). Her cd is amazing and you can find her here:
http://www.myspace.com/lenkamusic (I recommend listening to "Trouble is a Friend" and "Don't Let Me Fall")
2. Owl City - I first heard Owl City on Pandora and fell in love with the song "Fuzzy Blue Lights". He (Adam, the sole member of the band) just came out with a new cd called Ocean Eyes and it's great. You can find him here: http://www.myspace.com/owlcity ( I recommend listening to "Fuzzy Blue Lights" and "Hey Seattle")
3. Ra Ra Riot - My favorite find of the year! I went to see Death Cab for Cutie (my all time favorite band) and they were the first opening act. Because I used to play the violin, I had respect for a band that included a cellist and violinist (who play electronic instruments!). Their cd "The Rhumb Line" is one of Rolling Stone's top 50 best albums of 2008 and one of my favorites. You can find them here: http://www.myspace.com/rarariot ( I recommend listening to "Ghost Under Rocks" and "Oh, La").
Please let me know what you think of these bands!

This is me trying...
I'm not a very interesting person... I'm going to put that out there right away. I grew up in a dysfunctional family and was the first person in the family to graduate from college. When I was a kid, I played the violin and loved horses. In high school, I was the girl who tried to befriend everyone and slipped through relatively unharmed. College was my rebirth, the years I spent "sowing my wild oats" and getting everything out of my system I possibly could... I joined a sorority, I drank, I partied and barely passed important classes. I graduated in 2007 with a Bachelor's Degree in Biology.
After I got all the "party" out of me in college, I met Jason. He was laid back, the boy next door, and I fell in love. Right before I graduated, he proposed and I knew the plans I made for myself were on the right track. We married on April 18th in a beautiful ceremony and have been married over a year. Currently, I work at a Cancer hospital where I am underpaid and under-appreciated but I love my job.
Recently, we bought our first home and it has been my job to decorate and make it presentable. Being a homeowner has it's downs (bills) but I wouldn't trade it for the world. I have learned how to do many things myself given our limited funds but sometimes I'd prefer it that way.
That is my life in a very small nutshell. If you think I am interesting enough to follow, you are welcome to come along. I will be supplying wandering thoughts, DIY tips, random info, and anything else that may come up. Thanks for stopping by!
